  No can I get out of going in service?

  as some of you who read my previous thread know, my matrix moment has passed, and i am on my way out.

  i am trying very hard to fade slowly in hopes that my wife will wake up, and maybe my family too.

  the problem is, my conscience still works well, and i don't want to go out in if service and tell people things that i know aren't true.

  I remember going through that .... my conscience would no longer allow me to lie to others either .

  If you have to go out ,go to the door by yourself ,and ask any house holder, 'what do you really think of JW's coming to your door ? Would you like to know how to make them stop ? "

  Create your own entertainment ....or do what most do and just fill in an hour or two on the card and turn it in ... keeps everyone happy

  One time the service overseer was badgering me for my husbands time slip ( he never went out ) When I got tired of lying for him the overseer wouldn't accept it and kept saying 'just an hour didn't he maybe get at least an hour in ???" When I said 'Sure put an hour down for him " That made the overseer happy ..even when he KNEW it wasn't true .

  yes, friends, it's that time once more... when we clip some wt art to a post and try to find all the subliminal wt propaganda messages hidden in the illustration.

  (kinda like, "can you find the differences between these two drawings" for kids in the sunday comics).

  God only likes you to wear sensible shoes ,dockers and button down shirts for casual wear . You can always tell a weak sinner by their sneakers and t-shirts w/logos !

  Time for an Intervention

  come this july, i will have been out of the jw's for 20 years.

  and it has been quite a long time since i've really spent any serious time studying up on jw news and doctrines although i do still read here occasionally.

  but after today looks like i've got some work to do.. my first sergeant called me this morning asking for my help to fix his dad's truck as i'm an auto technician in my civilian job.

  When I was a child there were 3 Elderly members,two men one woman , that would partake of the emblems each year . It was a novelty to watch them each year .

  the more i'm reading and thinking about what i have previously learned it just opens a whold new can of worms.. my husband and i have been reading/comparing the nwt, diaglot, reference bible, etc.

  and i saw where the society added words, changed meaning, even added an entire sentence without ().

  i have seen where they have emphasized sayings in the watchtower that are not in the bible like "paradise earth".

  So Confused ,Welcome to the board !!! I almost cried reading your post because I clearly remember the confusion I went through when I first started 'waking up' .

  It is a confusing and scary time at first,but hang in there it gets SO much better . The feeling of freedom is amazing and finally thinking on your own is priceless. I was 44 yrs old before I began my journey out,my advice to you would be don't waste another moment .

  Give your sister a call . I shunned my older brother for many yrs . I missed seeing my only neice growing up . These are huge regrets . Luckily my brother forgave me and we now are working at be closer and being a real family . It is not to late for you either . One thing you must learn is to throw fear aside ,being a JW taught me to be so fearful of everything it sucks the joy of life out of you . Once you realize it is YOUR choice to step over that fear and really live things become clearer and less scary .

  as ive got cobe and my daughters fil coming round nxt wk to grill me, first time 2 of the blighters have turned up together so im expecting the inevitable.

  by the way not been to a meeting in 2.5 yrs after 35 yrs in the b/s,and just wondering how much they pressure to get the answers they want.

  When they began asking questions that I knew if answered could be considered "not following Jehovah's Witness Beliefs" , I just told them I would not answer personal questions about my life . Then I repeated my personal life was none of their business since I no longer attended the hall . (I had not been to a meeting in over four yrs ) Which is true ,they are not suppose to purposely go after someone no longer associating with the congregation . Try their tricks on them by answering questions with a question and never give a straight answer !

  You will need to repeat the same words over and over to them before they are able to grasp the concept that you no longer answer to them . The only power they possess is what we bestow upon them .

  i saw it, saved it, lost it.. not in an elders manual, not in letters to elders as far as i can see.. but i am pretty sure the wording was close to my title wording.. any takers???.

  Memorial

  the memorial is back and i know i am going to be harassed into taking my father in law to it.

  i refused last year and i have every intention of not going this year too.

  it is just so frustrating to me that he has a pioneer for a supposed wife who can take all the other sisters to doctor appointments and shopping and gets high praise for this by the congregation even as she neglects her sick husband.

  You are a great Mom ,we learn right along with our kids sometimes .

  So happy for your son ! What a great experience for him ,and in no time he will be so happy he made the right decision . Just think how this will help him the next time he needs to make a big decision ,it is all building blocks isn't it ? He just made a huge step into manhood .

  I have three son's and they still call to discuss major life choices with me . I am more of a sounding board than anything just trying to support what ever they are attempting to do . The hardest time of my parental life was hearing one of my sons struggling from thousands of miles away ....worried and scared he had made a major move mistake ....all I could do is remind him, that is what life is about ,taking chances and going for it ! Thankfully he gave his choice time and it has worked out just fine .
